In His Own Words
Watch the video below to see what Charlie has to say about the issues affecting San Clemente.
Position on Issues
Get to know where I stand on the issues that are important in San Clemente.
Together, we can address these issues and make our city even better.
Beach, Parks, and Recreation Commission
For the last four years, I have had the privilege to serve the good people of San Clemente on the City’s Beach, Parks and Recreation Commission, seeking to preserve San Clemente’s natural beauty and to enhance our community’s quality of life. My tenure on the commission coupled with my career experience, knowledge, and skills, I believe will allow me to represent the city well on the council.
U.S. Army Ranger
As a soldier in the U.S. Army’s direct action force for the U.S. Armed Forces Special Operations Command (75th Ranger Regiment (3rd Battalion) — “Airborne Rangers”), I learned to remain calm and collected given the complex and stressful situations. San Clemente City Council needs leadership that has these traits, especially in today’s difficult political environment.
Republican Party Service
My involvement with the USC College Republicans led to my Chairmanship of that campus organization. Later, in a special election, I was elected as Chairman of the California College Republicans. Post my time in college, I was elected as National Secretary of the College Republican National Committee. I am grateful for my time working for the Republican party.
I have significant financial education (BS in Business Admin from USC, MBA from the University of Rochester, CFA charter holder) and 20+ years of experience in finance, banking, wealth management, asset management. My professional background will allow me to assist the city in all financial matters including, but not limited to, financial issues, pension matters, negotiations, etc. I will always advocate for fiscal conservatism to keep the city on a sound footing.
For the last two years as Bishop of a local congregation, I have been asked to care for the needs of the transient population of San Clemente. This work with the homeless in the city has given me a good understanding of what it takes to compassionately address this growing and concerning issue.
We Love our Community
My family is supportive of this run for City Council and provides me with great stability. My wife and I have been happily married for over 20 years. She is a native to San Clemente and started our city service as ASB President of San Clemente High School long before we were married.
